Lately, I’ve been reviewing and editing several recordings of a two year old. She’s this spunky, spirited kid. Her parents hired us to document a year in her life.

The recordings are incredible. When I listen to them, I think about my own childhood and how much I wish I had recordings of myself as a toddler, saying my first words, singing my first songs, discussing the scary monster in my room. But, what’s more, I wish I had recordings of my parents talking about how I came into the world, about my what my personality seemed like then, and the struggles and joys they shared in raising me.
